Catalysts for Heavy Duty Diesel Engines (HDDs)
Environmental experts worldwide have recognized diesel emissions as a health risk. Governments around the world have adopted tighter emission standards related to NOx and particulate matter (PM) from diesel-powered vehicles. In particular, in the off road diesel sector, the adoption of Stage III B in Europe and interim Tier 4 in North America will have a dramatic impact on the use of emission control devices beginning in 2009. Full implementation of Stage IV and Tier 4 will continue through 2014 in the off road sector. Current techniques for diesel vehicles to meet emissions standards require the use of several methods, including diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs), catalyzed diesel particulate filters (CDPFs) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.
The Catalytic Solution’s Inc. SolutionWe have been producing diesel oxidation catalysts since 2000. In addition, we are working with leading auto and substrate manufacturers to develop DOCs, CDPFs and SCR systems utilizing our MPC® technology to meet European light and heavy duty regulations with minimal or no PGMs. Test results indicate that our solution can reduce PGM utilization by over 80% and has superior stability and durability to similar products made by our competitors.
